
GFA to honor fallen players William Essu and Hans Kwofie with minute of silence at FA final
The Ghana Football Association has announced that a minute of silence will be held in honor of fallen former footballers William Essu and Hans Kwofie at Sunday’s FA Cup final between Bofoakwa Tano and Nsoatreman.The game will kick off at 6 pm, with the minute of silence coming before the game starts.The football community has recently been struck by the deaths of Essu, a goalkeeper who played for Legon Cities and Vision FC, and Kwofie, a seasoned forward who featured for Medeama SC, Ashgold, and Heart of Lions.Essu passed from a long time illness while Kwofie died from a fatal accident on Friday evening.Kwofie had stints with Legon Cities FC, Bechem United, and Aduana FC. He won the top scorer award in the 2016/2017 season and was with Nepal Super League club Birgunj United FC at the time of his death.These losses come shortly after the burial of former Black Stars Physical Instructor Roy Ricky Romeo.
